Iraqi officials said a suicide bomb attack at a Shi’ite funeral in the capital, Baghdad, has killed at least 12 people and wounded at least 32 others.
The attack occurred at the funeral of a fighter belonging to an Iraqi government-supported umbrella group made up mostly of Shi’ite militias.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion fell on the Islamic State extremist group.
The Sunni organization controls large swaths of territory in Iraq’s north and west, but also regularly carries out attacks on Shi’ites in Baghdad.
