Officials in Mali say a nurse infected with the Ebola virus has died.

The death late Tuesday is the second in Mali confirmed to be linked to Ebola. The first was a two-year-old girl who died last month.

Mali’s health ministry said Wednesday the nurse worked at a clinic in the capital, Bamako, and that the clinic has been put under quarantine.

Officials said the nurse treated a man they believe also died after contracting Ebola.

Mali borders Guinea, where the Ebola outbreak began last year.

About 5,000 people have died, most of them in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
