The leader of Belarusian opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is in Washington for a series of meetings with high-ranking U.S. officials. In an interview with VOA she neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of in-person talks with U.S. President Joe Biden. In her interview, Tsikhanouskaya indicated that she came to Washington at the invitation of the U.S. State Department and the focus of her discussions will be around a worsening of the human rights situation in Belarus as well as the escalation of violence by the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko.
