A suicide car bombing in an eastern Afghan region bordering Pakistan killed at least six people Tuesday evening, officials said.  

The attack happened in Nazyan district of Nangarhar province and there are children among the dead, provincial police said, adding a pro-government tribal militia leader was apparently the target.

The Afghan province is where militants linked to Islamic State are also engaged in terrorist attacks against Afghan security forces.
