Iranian state media say Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has undergone prostate surgery at a Tehran hospital.

The official IRNA news agency said the procedure Monday morning “ended successfully.”

The 75-year-old ayatollah has led Iran since 1989.

He gave reassurances before the surgery, saying “there is no reason to worry.”
